PiXL: You may be interested in what we are about...?
Posted: 30/11/12An article in the TES on 30 Nov 2012 about the place of iGCSE and double entry with English featured extensively some of the work that PiXL does. It displayed some facts about PiXL which were largely accurate, namely:
1. We currently have 400 secondary schools in the PiXL Club
2. We have 147 Sixth Forms in PiXL 6
3. We have 20 PRUs soon to rise to about 30
4. We have 50 Primary partners in a pilot soon to rise towards 200 we believe
5. Last year we had an average increase across our schools of 4.6% on E/M when nationally the figure was down 0.4%
There was a mistake in the membership subscription: the TES said £3500 plus VAT when in fact it is £3200 plus VAT!
Our fundamental principles are stated elsewhere but emphasise:
a) our Moral Purpose: to achieve the best results for our students
b) our commitment to students of ALL abilities
c) supportive resources, pedagogy and leadership to bring about sustainable transformation. We are not about 'quick fixes'
d) our commitment to each other. What was not written in the TES but communicated verbally is that' this feels more like a family than a Club'- absolutely correct!
