Our Culture

PiXL's central staff team includes Heads of each sector, curriculum specialists, a team of Regional Leaders and the operations team. We also work with school-based colleagues and independent consultants, who deliver specialist services and network with us closely. We work with each school to ensure they get the best from their PiXL subscription, with a focus on improving life chances and outcomes for young people. 

Our company culture is based on integrity, kindness, humility and pursuit of excellence, and those four things are at the heart of what we do and how we behave. The central leadership approaches that we talk about to schools are the ones we also use ourselves.

Meet the senior team

Rachel Johnson

CEO, Director of Programmes and Delivery, Head of 11-18

After 12 years of teaching and leading in schools, and 6 years of working with PiXL, Rachel Johnson was appointed as CEO of the company in January 2020. As well as leading and overseeing the vision and direction of PiXL, she has released several podcasts: 'PiXL Pearls', 'The PiXL Leadership Bookclub' and 'How do you teach?'. She is the author of two books in her 'Time to Think' series. Rachel is committed to ensuring that PiXL’s work with schools continues to support school leaders in improving life chances and outcomes.
