Each year, we offer a full suite of events per membership type that may be accessed by leaders at all levels of your school or college. These include subject-specific conferences, networking hubs, new school and guest school sessions, and our flagship national conferences. Currently, most of our content is streamed digitally through our PiXL TV platform, but we are returning to in-person events in 2022.
These events are attended by hundreds of school leaders and are, for many, a highlight of the PiXL academic year. At these national conferences, people gather to hear the latest news on curriculum, PiXL releases and support and resource for the issues of the moment.
The national conferences are a blend of different approaches: some may be held regionally, others will be in Central Hall or The Oval, London, and some will be live-streamed digitally in front of a live audience in our PiXL satellite schools. For Secondary and Post 16 conferences, colleagues can gather in a local school and watch the national conference together. We provide gifts for each school, so that the viewing experience can be enjoyable as well as informative. We are grateful for all the schools who offer to host these sessions so that networking can happen and a sense of togetherness is felt.
Each national conference includes a delegate handbook and accompanying resource. Associates are able to explore some pertinent things for each school’s context in their subsequent meetings with schools.
There are also many other different leadership events that you can access as part of your subscriptions, such as:
Digital Subject Conferences
We run seven subject conferences across the year for Secondary and Post 16 at no additional charge. These are: English, Maths, Science, Geography, History, MFL, Vocational and PE. We aim these conferences at Heads of Department, lead teachers and class teachers and promote a blend of leadership thinking, practical ideas and the latest research to ensure that your subject leaders are equipped for the vital job they do.
We have a Science Conference for PiXL Primary members in Summer 2022, as an event to complement our extensive science materials and support school leaders further.
At PiXL, we bring people together regularly to collaborate and share good practice and to support each other. If there is something that you want an answer to, or would like to discuss, this is the place. We look at timely issues, provide opportunity for colleagues from different schools to speak to one another, and, as ever, aim to be practical, such that you can have impact in schools.
We also organise digital festivals.
This year, we are holding our second digital Reading Festival for PiXL Primary, after its success in 2021.
These festivals contain well-known authors and speakers as well as experts in their field.
