Up for Debate
Debating and the 3Cs
We believe that debating can be hugely beneficial to students and staff both in and out of the classroom. When delivered effectively in a school, it can impact on all three of PiXL's 3Cs.
This year, for the first time ever, Up for Debate is going digital. We are very keen to ensure that PiXL schools do not miss out on another year of debating, and after the successes of this year’s digital World Schools Debating Championship, it felt most appropriate to run the programme online, in order to allow your students to still participate in this fantastic opportunity whilst staying safe.
This year's programme includes:
- Access to the bespoke Up for Debate website. This site is packed full of resources to help you embed debating in your school, including resources to use in debate clubs and as a way of enriching curricular lessons.
- Staff training to help you bring the resources to life (training sessions will take place via Zoom throughout the Autumn Term).
- Access to this year’s competition for one team of three students. The competition will be running separately for Years 7-8 and Years 9-10, and as such, if you wish to bring a team from each, you may enter a maximum of two teams of three students. Online championships will take place between March and May.
